IRANIANS HIT THE STREET BY THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS

*UPDATE* I had a video posted from a protest in Iran from YouTube, I don't know what happened to it. If I can get it back, I'll repost it...Peace*

Good morning, Searchers, I woke up to MSNBC this morning, the lead story I caught was about the alleged election fraud in Iran.

People have been demonstrating against the totalitarian government since June 12, when the Presidential election was held.

Searchers, this is huge. As I heard a commentator say yesterday, it may not be like Tiananman Square, but certainly may be similar to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Some of you remember neither, but when I saw the people standing on the Wall shouting triumphantly, and hitting the wall with sledgehammers, it sent shivers down my spine.
Equally so with the lone Chinese man facing down the tanks.

These were people that were fed up with a regime that kept them down, and in the case of China, they had had it with the government "reforms" that destroyed their wage base, stripped them of jobs, and forced millions into abject poverty, so the Chinese gov't could switch to a capitalist economy. Read 'The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein, it is a remarkable eye opener.

So the Iranaian people are protesting the outcome of the Presidential election. Let me put this in perspective: The Iranian Government hand counted millions of ballots, I read somewhere that the turnout was 65% of the population, here in the U.S., we're lucky to get 40% turnout, and after 3 hours of HAND COUNTING, the government declared the landslide victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinajad over his opponent, Mir Hossein Mousavi.

In the United States, it took a solid month, courtroom drama, and ultimately the Supreme Court to decide the election of 2000, that brought Bush into the White House. We all know how that turned out, perhaps we need the Iranian ultra smart state of the art ballot counting machine: the hand.

Seriously, I believe the Iranian election was hi-jacked by the Supreme Leader and the government. Ahmedinajad won by landslide numbers even in Mousavi's hometown where he polled in very high numbers. Mousavi is a reform candidate, and it appears the Iranian people want reform.

It is our duty as Americans to support their desire for an open, democratic government. That does not necessarily mean military intervention, so put away your guns and your ding-dongs, Americans, not everything has to be solved with force. The display of solidarity by the Iranians in the face of execution for demonstrating may be enough to topple the current regime, and if not totally topple, at least start putting chinks in the armour of the State. We can learn from this, and we need to revisit our own history and study again Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s manner of protest. Ditto with Ghandi.

It is time for a systemic change in the United States. It will come, albeit slowly, cause we are, after all, fat, dumb, and happy.

OBAMA GOING AFTER CORPORATE TAX DODGERS

"The steps I am announcing today will help us deal with some of the more egregious examples of what is wrong with our tax code" -Barack Obama, May 4, 2009

Watched a news conference today, Obama was outlining a plan that will close loopholes and force American Corporation that set up "shell companies" overseas or "offshore" such as the legendary Cayman Islands to pay the taxes that they are legally obligated to pay...check out excerpts from the L.A. Times:

President Obama said this morning that he plans to crack down on American companies that legally avoid U.S. tax obligations by investing money in countries with lower tax rates.

He also plans to eliminate tax deductions for companies that achieve similar breaks by sending jobs overseas, while extending the deduction for those who create domestic jobs.

The practice of "offshoring" cheats other taxpayers, the president said, and those who circumvent the system are "aided and abetted by a broken tax system" that he pledged to fix.

The practice of "offshoring" doesn't cheat others just because the President says so, it cheats others because it cheats others, period.

I feel it is imperative that we work to end the reign of the multi-national wholesale robbery of the American People, as well as the robbery of whole nations and peoples across the planet.

Remember, Americans, even though we like to think we're the only country on the planet, we are not alone, and the actions of this nation reverberate throughout the world like no other nation in the history of the world. The article continues:

Speaking to reporters in the Grand Foyer of the White House, Obama said he doesn't think companies should be rewarded more for creating a job in Bangalore, India, than for creating one in Buffalo, N.Y.

"I want to see our companies remain the most competitive," the president said, while not rewarding them for moving jobs overseas.

The president's plans could yield an additional $210 billion in tax revenue over the next decade, according to the administration.

Obama's plan would:

* Eliminate some tax deductions for companies that earn profits in countries with low tax rates.

* Make permanent a research and experimentation tax credit, which is offered for creating domestic jobs.

* End a loophole that allows corporations to avoid taxes by reporting to the U.S. government that they're paying taxes in foreign countries and then telling the foreign countries that they're paying here.

This is important. It is time the corporations in this country that have dodged the IRS (while most of us sweat dealing with them at all,) to start paying and contributing to this country on a very visceral level. I want these motherfuckers give till it hurts.

Obama did bring this up more than once during the campaign , and after eight years of Bush, we handily voted Obama in over the Republicans and their policies, policies that have lead to the destruction of the middle, working class, and created more hardship for the poorest in the US, as well as around the world.

The Republican response? Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican from Kentucky:

"a significant tax increase on companies" Ever the defender of the corporation, never a defender of his or any constituents that don't earn 6 or more figures a year...

As soon as Rachel Maddow's clip from this evenings' newscast on MSNBC, I wil post it. As always Rachel breaks it down. Suffice it to say, the Republicans have virtually no ideas that will benefit anyone other than their cronies that line their pockets.

TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS DOES NOT WORK. The Republicans ideas are old and they have failed. (Thanks Mr. Prezz)

So, here is a link to tired ass McConnell senate website, here is his number:
202.224.2541

and a link for all 50 states

I will contact Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas as well as Mark Pryor, along with the Ladies of Washington State. I'll let you know what they said tomorrow, and I'll get that video from Maddow's posted along with it...peace Searchers, we are in a fight for our country, and it aint against Obama.

BTW, the Republicans are already screaming about Obama's Supreme pick, and the pick doesn't even exist, yet.

Rachel Maddow is currently reporting on Jefferson Sessions, Republican senator from Alabama, evidently a racist s.o.b., I will research him more, and track down the quotes Maddow threw up onscreen. He is a member of the Judiciary Committee that will handle the nomination of Obama's Supreme pick. I have contacted Session's office in the past regarding some ridiculous comments he made, so I will be watching Senator Session's behavior very closely during the nomination process. Peace-

Dr. Ernesto Guevara de la Serna Inspiration Continued

El Che: A Revolutionary, and a rabble rouser. He reminds me of me. Che stood up for people that were powerless, despite his aristocratic background, and he stood up to something far more powerful than himself. Vive Che!

He is at the United Nations, as a Secretary of State(essentially) for the nation of Cuba. No hate 4 Cuba, I can't wait to be able to interact with the people and build a dialogue and history with the great people of the Island of Cuba.

SEARCHERS: IT IS TIME TO PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PROFESSOR'S BLOG:

http://www.ridwanlaher.blogspot.com/

This is a scholar that helped enlightened me at Portland State University, and one I hold in extreme regard: Ridwan Laher

Britain's the House of Lords has overturned
a lower court ruling that would have allowed displaced Chagossian people to
return to their homes in the Indian Ocean archipelago.Hengride
Permel, who represents the Chagos Islands Community Association, said the
Britain missed "a chance ... to right a wrong ... it is a shameful day for the
government."The
Chagos Islanders plight to return is hardly covered in the mainstream media. It
is a story of brutal imperialism and war mongering that implicates Britain, and
of course, the United States. In the 1960s and 1970s Britain used force to remove
the Chagossian people from their homes in and around the largest Chagos Island
called Diego Garcia. The move came after Britain leased Diego Garcia to the US.
Britain also allowed the US to build a navy and air base. The vast majority of
displaced Chagossians were settled into slums in Mauritius. In 2007 the British
High Court ruled
that the Chagossian people were wrongfully expelled and
that they should have the right to return.Today's House of Lords decision, the
highest court of appeal in Britain, sets the High Court decision aside. The
decision was in large part based on the British government's argument that the
right of return would bridge security because the US uses Diego Garcia to launch
military operations to Iraq and Afghanistan. The House of Lords decision confirms
that Britain (along with the US) have condemned the Chagossian people to
permanent and inhumane exile.See "Stealing a
Nation
, A Special Report by John Pilger" (2006) for critical background
coverage. Also, you can get more information from the UK Chagos Support

FOREIGN POLICY

Listening to the interview w/Palin on ABC, several things occured to me:

1. I have more foreign policy experience that Sarah Palin.
2. I can tell anyone that asks precisely what the Bush Doctrine is.
3. I can tell you what the Truman Doctrine is.
4. I have been to more countries than Sarah Palin.

A. France
B. Italy
C. Switzerland
D. Holland
F. Mexico

5. I have lived in more states than Sarah Palin, giving me a more concise viewpoint on many different cultures within the United States:

A. Illinois
B. Arkansas
C. Missouri
D. Kansas
E. Tennessee
F. North Carolina
G. Oregon
F. Washington

I have visited more states than Sarah Palin:

A. California
B. Kentucky
C. Iowa
D. Wyoming
E. Utah
F. Idaho
G. Montana
H. Michigan
I. Wisconsin(actually my relatives owned land in Wisconsin. I spent many, many weekends there outside of Avoca/Muscoda-pronounced Muscoday-so although never a resident, quite a few of my formative years were in Wisconsin. Hell, I rode my first motorcycle, shot my first pistol, shot my first rifle, milked my first cow, slaughtered my first rabbit, harvested my first puffball-in Wisconsin. The cheese and curd is amazing! "America's Dairyland")
J. South Carolina
K. Georgia
L. Alabama
M. Louisiana
N. Texas
O. Arizona
P. Minnesota
Q. Indiana
R. Florida

I think that's all...it is time for a systemic change in the United States...what did Thomas Jefferson say?

Clearly I have more experience, depth, compassion, and decency than Sarah Palin.

Batten down the hatches...O yeah-what about taking care of the Karl Rove problem?

"Pull Yerself Up By Yer Bootstraps!"

So I'm watching CNN and they throw a story out there about a young Lady, Natalie Dylan (pictured). She is a student in So. Cal., and she needs money for college. So what's her plan? She going to auction off her virginity! I wonder how that plays to the far-right bootstrap wearing bible thumpin christian? You already know that answer to that. They will be quick to condemn her as a whore, and all the while deny money for education.
It is past time that we have free higher education in the US. To have to mortgage your future like buying a house to get an education, or to have to sell your body is a stinging indictment to our christian capitalist system.
Time for a change.

It is a sorry state of affairs when a woman has to sell her body to get an education. We need real change in the US. Enough of this capitalistic nightmare.
Natalie references capitalism in her interview, stating,"we live in a capitalist society, why shouldn't I be able capitalize on my virginity?" Good question. I think I'm going to capitalize on one of my kidneys. Anyone have 50 grand?
Let's get something new started in the U.S. Revolution!

FREE AT LAST FREE AT LAST! OR AT LEAST I'M WORKING ON IT...

I posted this comment on an Alaskan Blog.* As my experience with the Charismatic churches, the intolerance, hate, fear, contempt for those less fortunate, is coming un- suppressed I am expressing it periodically here:

As a man heavily involved with these types of churches, and as a man that has been finally able to cast off the cult-like oppression, I can say with some authority that Palin is a compassion-less right winger that has no interests but her own to further. Religion and politics as well as the Gov't of the US must all be subject to the Evangelical/Charismatic movement.

Edward Abbey was correct when he declared: "When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." The ultimate goal for these agents of intolerance, evangelicals and charismatics, is a "Christian Nation" one which at best rejects those who don't believe and at worse subjugates them.

We have real issues at hand, such as soldiers committing suicide and living on the streets, health care, EDUCATION, but these right wingers would have you believe that if you're poor you're cursed, (see family curse theology), if you're rich you're blessed (unless you're an "unbeliever" then "the devil" gave it to you...)and all others can fall by the wayside and beg for crumbs. If this administration, that is McPalin, is installed in Washington, D.C., revolution will be closer than ever. I pasted this comment to my blog, mikesearches.blogspot.com. I'm reliving my experiences as they come back. One of my favorite lines in these churches is: "It's of the Devil!" That can apply to care bears, cabbage patch kids, my little pony, soda, t.v., movies, cars, alcohol, pants on women, beards on men,(despite the fact that Jesus' beard was "plucked"), short sleeves on men or women, drugs, as longs as the drugs aren't prescribed by a doctor, however, in some of these cults, like the UPCI, (United Pentecostal Church International) doctors are "of the devil" as well...(like in Brother Bill Gray's church in Pocahontas AR a members' daughter was born with severe birth defects as a result of oxygen depletion while in the birth canal, because the parents refused to involve a doctor or hospital in her birth because this would in some way reflect on their level of faith in the LORD) , some sex...(wink, wink)but surprisingly, NOT FOOD! Yes food is the ultimate payback on this planet for so much sacrificing for the LORD! In our church in Pocahontas, after a fast you better stay the hell away from the ro-tel cheese dip vat or you're gonna get stabbed!

The things I write are true. This is just the beginning. We are in for real trouble, war and revolution if these two yo-yo's are elected.

More to come...

Feds Bail out Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac

http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/treasury-set-bail-out-fannie/story.aspx?guid=%7B46D1439E-A2C4-418C-9BE0-09BE0B9EE60D%7D&dist=msr_4

So, the feds are bailing out corporations. Again. All while this worthless Administration cuts social benefits are being cut, we have two morons on the Repub ticket, both will do more damage to social programs, students in higher education, children, families. It's okay to bail out corporations, but not okay to provide health care to every man woman and child in America. It's okay to have college educations cost more than a house in many areas. It is all a ploy to get the rich richer, keep the poor poorer, and build a corporate christian fascist base. Before anyone spazzes, I know ultimately people who own their homes through these mortgage companies, and people need help. The republicans only care about the company, not the individuals that make it up, unless they are in the top spots.

Think they care? Look at this new psycho Sarah Palin. She cut special needs education by 62%. How's that for right wing Christianity? And to get on the stage and say she's a friend to the disadvantaged. It furthers my belief in the utter failure of the Republican party and the American right wing as well as their churches...
Peace-Revolution...let us take our country back...
